New Student Move-In
Orientation volunteers will assist with moving you in. They will help to unload your vehicle and take your items to your residence hall room!
- Student name
- Student residence hall name
- Room number
Traffic Details
Drivers are instructed to always remain with their vehicles and be alert for instructions from Campus Safety traffic directors. Please do not leave your vehicle unattended for any reason, as this causes unnecessary delays in the unloading process.
Campus Safety and the Move-In Day staff will direct all vehicles to appropriate parking locations after hall drop-off.
Students: We strongly encourage you to have someone else be the driver of your car so that you can go into the residence hall while your vehicle is being unloaded. We need vehicles to be moved quickly to keep everything flowing — having a non-student driver will make the process smoother.
The Move-In Line begins at 260 Constitution Avenue, Gettysburg, PA 17325. We recommend typing this address into your GPS. Signage will be around campus to direct you toward Constitution Avenue.
AFTER Move-In Activities
- Orientation programming will begin after lunch, with students gathering in their Orientation groups. Students are required to participate in Orientation group activities beginning at 1 p.m. and should walk to Stine Lake (in front of Musselman Library) before 1 p.m. Parents and family members will have special programming while students are with their Orientation group.
- Opening Convocation will begin at 4 p.m. Students will be welcomed to the academic community that is Gettysburg College. Families and guests are invited to this event.
- Farewell to Families will occur after Opening Convocation. Students will have the chance to say goodbye to their friends and family members who accompanied them to campus.
- Students will have dinner with their Orientation groups after Convocation. The first building and floor meetings will occur in the evening where students will get to meet those with whom they will be living.
- The Orientation schedule can be found online, and students are expected to download and use the Navigate app to view the Orientation schedule. Please check back later this summer for updates.
